In a gloriously rural setting, our luxury Scandinavian Lodges offer you the peace and tranquillity of our 25 acre landscaped grounds, superb views over the surrounding countryside ??? and the relaxed and friendly environment of the family run Woodside Country Park. With a backcloth of over 100 acres of mixed woodland, care has been taken to preserve and enhance the surrounding environment by providing a wild flower and natural woodland area, encouraging an abundance of wildlife. This compliments the pools and waterfalls where coarse fishing, or a relaxing summer evening picnic can be enjoyed, taking in the spectacular views of unspoiled Herefordshire. Pets welcome. Conservation Area Nestling amongst the scenic woodland slopes at the foot of the Malvern Hills in an area of outstanding natural beauty, the picturesque and bustling town of Ledbury, is just 2 miles away, with easy access to the M5/M50. This ancient town, first noted in the Doomsday Book, but which has been a settlement since the Stone Age, is famous for its Black and White buildings, cobbled streets and renowned Poetry Festival, and more recently National winners of the Britain in Bloom Competition. After much research, the project to create a Conservation Area began in February 2002.This project has been to make improvements to an area of old pasture which had become redundant and uneconomical to use as grazing land, and transform it into a wildlife area. With the adjacent habitats being predominately pasture, improved grassland and woodland, it was an ideal situation to create a site with the potential to support protected species such as Great Crested newts and other important species. Colour & Variety all year round Over 500 native water plants, trees and shrubs have been planted together with approximately 100 varieties of wild flowers, aiming to give colour and variety all year round. Fishing Pool It has been important to us to create an area accessible by all, especially allowing easy access for the disabled, giving them the opportunity for fishing for Carp, Rudd, Roach and Tench in the lakes, and enjoying the abundance of wildlife. To be in keeping with the objectives of the project, all benches and picnic tables are environmentally friendly, having been made from recycled materials. This has been a continuing process of improvement to incorporate the planting of approximately 600 native trees and the construction of five further pools.
