Alton Star Camping and Caravanning Club Site is one of our newest locations, and is set in the beautiful Staffordshire countryside. The park is open from early March to early November, and has 280 pitches that welcome motorhomes, touring campers, and tents onto the site. Seasonal pitches are also available for travellers who want to leave their caravan on site throughout the summer.
Our park is family and pet friendly with plenty of open spaces to enjoy both for pets and for children, while natural gas supplies and a range of other facilities, including washing up and laundry, are available on site.
We are only one mile away from Alton Towers Theme Park, making us the perfect location for anyone heading to the park who has had a long journey but wants to assure themselves of early entry into the resort the next day. The park is surrounded by countryside, farmland, and woodland, all of which is accessible on foot or bicycle, while the local waterways are always a great place for finding a tranquil spot and indulging in a spot of fishing.
The Peak District National Park is also within easy reach of our location, and you’ll never be short of things to do should you venture there, as you encounter the southernmost peaks of the Pennines and have options for gentle walks or can take on more challenging terrain, as well as explore the charming towns that populate the area. The Staffordshire Moorlands are a great place to head out with the family and your pets, with miles of open spaces.
Our site also puts many great cities of the Midlands and the North West within reach. Stoke-on-Trent and the rest of the Potteries have a number of great museums and attractions for the whole family, while Manchester is a cosmopolitan, modern city with everything from great shops and restaurants to world theatre and many more attractions.
If you prefer staying closer to the site, then heading out into the surrounding countryside will allow you to discover several villages, including Oakamoor, Alton itself, and Denstone, where you’ll find amenities and always welcoming local communities.
Whether you stay at our park one night so you can head into Alton Towers the next day, or stay for a lengthier period to take in the beauty of the surrounding area, you’ll find it a great base for getting out into Staffordshire and exploring the major attractions of the region.
