Welcome to Speyside Leisure Park If you are planning to visit Scotland then Aviemore should be high on your list of possible holiday destinations Situated at the heart of the Highlands of Scotland and the newly established Cairngorms National Park Aviemore is an ideal location for you to pursue an extensive range of activities Set amidst spectacular scenery of mountains lochs rivers and glens Aviemore and the Cairngorms boast facilities for walking climbing cycling mountain biking fishing golf horse riding ski ing and water sports Speyside Leisure Park offers a choice of self catering accommodation just half a mile to the south of Aviemore centre and the Aviemore Highland Resort in self catering chalets cabins and caravans in a quiet riverside setting on a bank of the River Spey With superb views looking towards the Cairngorm mountains Speyside Leisure Park Aviemore is an ideal location from which families couples or groups can enjoy all that the area has to offer The Funicular Mountain Railway the Strathspey Steam Railway the Landmark Forest Heritage Park and the award winning Highland Folk Park are all easy to reach from Aviemore Talking of awards the Highland Wildlife Park featured in the BBC TV series Monarch of the Glen is rated the best in the world for its wolf enclosure and is also home to many of Scotland s present native species and even to some of those from the past Still on the subject of animals Aviemore is home to the UK s only wild roaming Reindeer Herd The reindeer spend most of the year on Cairngorm where you can join the herders to help feed them and to spend some time getting to know these majestic animals ABOUT SPEYSIDE LEISURE PARK Speyside Leisure Park Aviemore is situated on a bank of the River Spey with the majority of our units having superb views of the Cairngorm mountains Aviemore centre is only a ten minute walk away and the park is an ideal base from which to enjoy the wide range of attractions and activities nearby We offer a range of self catering accommodation to suit all tastes and budgets including a caravan for the disabled Our chalets cabins and caravans are well insulated and heated for all year round use Prices include electricity gas linen towels and use of our weights gym Children will enjoy the climbing frame and low level balance beams and the Spey also offers the opportunity to fish Brown Trout permits are available from reception Families couples and groups will find something to suit everyone Horse riding golf bird watching walking cycling mountain and water sports visiting the Cairngorm Reindeer herd taking a trip on the Strathspey Steam Railway and the irresistible Whisky Trail We offer discounts on some of the attractions locally and vouchers are available on arrival Facilities Pool SaunaPlease note the pool is currently unavailable whilst new regulations are clarified Please check with us if swimming will be important during your holiday as alternative arrangements may be possibleThe heated indoor swimming pool and sauna are normally available free of charge to our guests during office hours For safety reasons no one under the age of sixteen is permitted to use the pool or sauna without being accompanied by an adult The supervising adult does not have to use the pool but can watch from the edge We have a number of goggles and armbands that can be borrowed but we do not have swimming costumes The pool measures 9 metres by 4 metres and at 1 metre deep at the shallow end is ideal for young children We endeavour to maintain the temperature at 28 degrees centigrade all year round If you plan to swim daily you might wish to consider bringing towels for this purpose Children s Play AreaThe climbing frame is a regular source of enjoyment for children and the smaller ones find the low balance beams an interesting challenge We ask children to use the specified areas when they are playing and not to play on the roads or more importantly unsupervised on the riverbank The River Spey and FishingThe River Spey is one of our main assets as most of the chalets overlook the river It can however be dangerous especially for children and parents must accompany them at all times when they are near the bank Fishing permits for brown trout are available from 12th March to 30th September All types of bait may be used with the exception of spinners Prices are for 24 hours and are posted in reception There is no fishing on Sundays LaundryThe laundry facilities are available 24 hours each day Telephone Box The public telephone box is located near to reception Telephone books can be borrowed but must be returned after use Pool Sauna
