Strontian, with the Ardnamurchan peninsula and the districts of Moidart, Morvern and Sunart, are the most westerly parts of the Scottish mainland. Here rugged mountains face the wild Atlantic yet shelter many a quiet sandy bay. Wildlife is abundant in sea loch and river, and on mountain and moorland. You may glimpse a salmon leaping on its way from the sea, a golden eagle over the crags of Ben Resipole, a stag at bay in Glen Tarbet or a rare pine marten foraging in front of your lodge.

Our lodges which are made from Scandinavian pine give you a warm welcome. They are cozy in Winter and light and airy in Summer. The view from your window of Loch Sunart sparkling in the clear light will enchant you.

Seaview Grazings would be more accurately described as a private estate than a holiday park. The lodges are individually situated and all have magnificent views of mountain and loch. Out and About

The charming highland village of Strontian appears as a white-painted oasis on an inlet in the sea loch, Loch Sunart. The main part of the village is grouped around an attractive green which is centred on a magnificent spreading copper beech.

Strontian manages to combine a relaxed atmosphere and remote feel with a full range of modern amenities and excellent transport links.

Loch Sunart is the gateway to the Ardnamurchan peninsula. This is one of the most unexplored, unspoilt and hauntingly beautiful areas of the West Highlands..

The combination of highland mountain and loch with Hebridean moorland and seascape is probably unique in Scotland. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why so many of the visitors to Seaview Grazings return to stay with us year after year.

Seaview Grazings is situated within easy walking distance of Strontian village. It has a Post Office, shops and hotels less than a mile from our lodges. Petrol and diesel is available locally.

Tobermory, Mull

Strontian provides an ideal touring centre. We are within an hours drive of Ardnamurchan point, the most westerly spot in Britain with magnificent views out to the Hebrides.

Visits to Mull and Iona can easily be completed within a day. The port of Mallaig is within easy reach and boat trips can be taken to the Small Isles and Skye. Should the little ones wish to visit Balamory/Tobermory, a Ferry runs from nearby Lochaline several times daily.

Via the Corran ferry (five minute crossing), Fort William, Glen Nevis and Glen Coe can be reached within forty five minutes.The famous Jacobite steam train (used as the 'Hogwarts Express' in the Harry Potter films) runs from Fort William to Mallaig during the summer.

Jacobite Steam TrainAlthough you can visit somewhere different every day, you may find that Sunart captivates you so much that you do not need to stray far from your lodge. The Ariundle oakwood in Strontian Glen and the forest road along Loch Sheil provide ample scope for rewarding walks. If you are feeling lazy there is a sand beach at the loch side directly below your lodge.

Visiting Sunart and Ardnamurchan will enable you to experience a naturalists paradise. Rare wildlife and plant species, some of which are unique to this part of Europe, abound. The oakwoods of Sunart are justly famed as some of the last remnants of the ancient Caledonian forest which once cloaked all of western Scotland.
