Riverside Caravan Park is centrally situated for touring the Highlands and local beaches. It is situated a short driving distance from the Moray coast, where there are beautiful sheltered beaches of white sand, rocky headlands and idyllic fishing villages. The area is often referred to as the "Scottish Riveria" because of its dry and generally mild climate. After the coastal plain the land rises to the foothills of the Cairngorms, Aviemore, with its all year round holiday and leisure complex is within easy driving distance as are the distilleries of Speyside.

The City and Royal Burgh of Elgin is a market town and tourist centre, with many modern shops and restaurants. It is best known for its ruined 13th Century cathedral which is acknowledged to be one of the finest ecclesiastical buildings in Scotland. The Cooper Park, which is located nearby, boasts a children's playground, boating pond, bowling and putting greens, tennis courts, cricket pitch and an aviary.
