Mossband Caravan Park situated in the heart of Dumfries and Galloway occupying the site of what was once a railway station on the Dumfries to Dalbeattie line of the Glasgow and South-western Railway. That was until the line became a victim to the ???Beeching Report?? in the early sixties. British Rail, as it was known in those days, sold the land, the actual station, goods yards and the railway worker??s cottages in the late sixties and early seventies. It was only a short time after that the site was developed into a small touring caravan park. The location of the park is in a quiet and peaceful rural setting on outskirts of the village of Kirkgunzeon approximately 8 mile south west of Dumfries and 4 miles from Dalbeattie, with panoramic views of the hills as they roll south to the Solway Coast and eastwards towards Criffel. Only a short drive will take you to some excellent woodland and Coastal walks, world class mountain bike trails (parts of the 7 Stanes group) and many more of the tourist attractions of Dumfries & Galloway and the Solway Coast. There is so much to do and see in the region you would need to come and discover it for yourself, but what you can be certain of, is the warm friendly welcome that awaits you at Mossband Caravan Park
