A quiet site only open in the summer months. Accessed from a narrow single track road. Very clean toilet blocks. The pitches are mainly arranged around the periphery of a large circular, well tended grassy area bordered by mature trees with toilet and showering facilities in the centre. Nice nature walks along the banks of Lough Ree nearby. Very close to the Hodson Bay Hotel and the facilities it offers. An ideal small site to use when visiting the town of Athlone, with it's castle on the banks of the River Shannon. From Athlone (N6), take the N61 Roscommon road for approx 5 km. Follow signs for Hodson Bay Hotel and continue past the hotel about 800 metres. The camping ground is accessed through a farm type gate on the left hand side.
