Just off the N15 road and 8 km. west of Sligo town, this is a well run park at Rosses Point, in the sand hills adjoining a championship golf course. The 120 pitches (100 for touring units, all with 10A electricity) are thoughtfully laid out with small tents placed to the front of reception and the hardstanding touring pitches separated from the trailer tent pitches which occupy the rear. The ground is undulating and adds interest to the overall appearance. Your view depends on where you are pitched – look towards Coney Island and the Blackrock lighthouse which guards the bay, take in the sight of Benbulben Mountain or appreciate the seascape and the water lapping the resort’s two bathing beaches. This is an excellent base from which to explore the ‘Yeats Country’ and discover the beauty spots immortalised in his poems, such places as Lissadell, Dooney Rock, the Isle of Innisfree and the poet’s burial place at Drumcliffe.
