About Glen Afton Park

The park is set set in 18 acres of ground surrounded by the hills and woodlands of Craigdarroch Glen. There are stunning views from the park across the glen and a peace and tranquility to the site and the immediate vicinity where there are many walks all around. Wildlife abounds and there are numerous species of birds, many of which you will see from the caravan windows. There are deer close by and sometimes are seen on the site. Just a few miles into the hills by car there is a reservoir set in forest and hills. There are walks all around the reservoir. Just a mile away towards the village of New Cumnock there is a picnic area made famous by the Poet Robert Burns where there are benches on the edge of the river Afton. Just a short drive away, past the village of Dalmellington is a national park and within the park is Loch Doon, which can be driven around and offers spectacular views in unspoilt forest and hills.

The caravan park is also ideal as a base to explore southern scotland easily. Edinburgh, Glasgow, Loch Lomond, Dumfries are all within daily driving distance and there is also a train station in the village for stress free visits to these cities. The local village of New Cumnock is approx 2 miles from the site and has a large convenience store, garage, chemist, doctors etc. For larger supermarkets Cumnock and Auchinlech just a few miles further has these and many more shops. The major towns of Ayr and Kilmarnock are approx 30 mins by car. There is an excellent sandy beach at Ayr.
