About FISHCOMBE COVE HOLIDAY HOMES

It’s safe to say that Fishcombe Cove is one of the most beautiful corners of the South West Coast Path, and it’s the perfect spot to spend some time when you feel like leaving the crowds behind. Just along the coast from Brixham, Fishcombe is a sheltered cove with clear waters and a shingle beach, and it’s not only a popular spot with walkers but also a favourite with kayakers and swimmers on calm days.

Thanks to its sheltered position, it’s a safe spot for a dip in the sea, and it’s a secluded choice for those of you who feel a little self-conscious taking the plunge at the busier beaches in the local area.

Walkers can follow the coast path round from nearby Churston Cove and take in the sweeping views of Torbay from the top of the cliffs that surround the beaches, and the beauty spots are so picturesque they’ll stop them in their tracks just to take in the views for a few moments. It’s difficult to imagine what William of Orange would have thought as he landed a crew of 20,000 men on the beach back in 1688, but the cove’s been unspoilt by the hands of time.

One of the best times to visit this pretty beach is early in the morning, as those who swim a little way out to sea often find themselves surrounded by a school of fish! The facilities include a cafe and deckchair hire, so once you’ve made it to the beach you’ll be well-served if you spend a few hours enjoying the peace and quiet.

Dogs are welcome throughout the year, and if you keep your eyes peeled you may spot the local seals that tend to pop uop in the water without warning! If you walk to Fishcombe cove from Brixham it’ll take around half an hour from the harbour.
