About Crofthead Holiday Park

Crofthead is one of Ayrshire’s premier, four star parks offering a relaxing and peaceful ambiance, Crofthead is Ayr’s premier, 4 star, family run holiday park. Offering a relaxing and peaceful ambiance and surrounded by beautiful Ayrshire countryside and only two miles from Ayr town centre and the beach.

We are very proud of our park, having owned and run it from 2001. We ensure family values and a traditional caravanning atmosphere are retained although we offer today’s luxuries like Wifi, modern play equipment and a new shop.

We also have an extensive nature walk with stunning views in all directions. We welcome tourers, motorhomes and tents as well having superb, Thistle Awarded hire vans and luxury lodges with hot tubs. Owning your own holiday home is an affordable luxury at Crofthead. The park holds a 12 month holiday license.

Burns Centre

This award winning visitor centre tells the story of the connections between Robert Burns and the town of Dumfries. The well-researched exhibition is illuminated by many original documents and relics of the poet.

Heads of Ayr Farm Park

Whatever the weather – you’ll find plenty to see and do, with activities for all ages. There are almost 50 different types of animal to be seen.

Dunure (castle ruins)

The village of Dunure is located 5 miles (8km) north west of Maybole in South Ayrshire. This fishing village is a fairly recent addition to the coastline, dating from the early 19th century.

Fishing hamlet of Maidens

Maidens is a fishing village at the southern end of Maidenhead Bay 2 miles north of Turnberry and 5 miles west of Maybole. The village retains an old world air of peace and tranquillity and is a favourite spot for artists and camera enthusiasts.

Nurseries Direct

Ayrshire’s largest independent garden centre. We pride ourselves in offering quality plants, garden essentials, furniture and gifts at competitive prices.

We are only 20mins from Ayr, Cumnock and Kilmarnock and 45mins from Glasgow. From Ayr take the A70 and drive through Coylton and Coalhall. Go under the railway bridge and take 1st left then first right, following the signs for Nurseries Direct.

Emotion Karting

Emotion Karting is the latest karting centre in Scotland which combines state-of-the-art conference facilities with Scotland’s No1 karting circuit. It’s open to all members of the public and has special enhancements for our corporate clients and members alike.

Coyle Water Fishery

With 2 Lochans stocked weekly with top quality fish renowned for their hard fighting qualities. 2 Lochans and a small rearing pond, we have something to offer everyone.

Roodlea Golf Centre

Roodlea Golf Centre boasts a challenging 9 hole par 32 golf course, 13 bay & 4 outside bay floodlit driving range, new all grass short game area, golf coaching academy, pro-shop and cafe.

The Ayrshire Equitation Centre

The Ayrshire Equitation Centre offers a high standard of riding and horsemanship and prides itself on the many commendations it has received: British Horse Society, Trekking and Riding Scotland Approved and also a 4 star commendation by the Scottish Tourist Board.

There’s lots more to see and do: Beach, Golf clubs, Culzean, Ayr town centre is less than a 10 minute drive from park (restaurants, shops). There’s good fishing nearby. Additionally, Ayr Racecourse and Prestwick. For serious shopping Glasgow is only 45 minutes drive from the park.
