Welcome to Cockingford Campsite, set on the outskirts of Widecombe in the Moor, Dartmoor.

Voted 3rd best British campsite 2016, we pride ourselves in keeping camping and caravaning simple, relaxing and unspoilt. The East Webburn river flows along the bottom of the three camping fields, great for paddling and swimming, bringing much fun for children and adults alike.

Based on a working farm, you may get to see some of our animals, with piglets a regular occurrence from our Gloucester Old Spots. You can purchase farm produce from us, including our own eggs and milk from a local farmer. We sometimes have our own meat and veg for sale too.

Widecombe village is 1.5miles away, with a footpath from the farm to the main road in. The village has a small shop and post office, where you can find bread, milk etc. There are also gift shops, the national trusts Church House, two wonderful cafes, the Old Inn in the middle of the village and the Rugglestone Inn just down the road. Every second Tuesday of September the village holds its famous Widecombe Fair, well worth a visit.

Ashburton is 5 miles away, where you can find lots of local produce shops, a co-op, gift shops and more. There is an open air swimming pool and small museum.

The campsite has a shower block with toilets and access to water. Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a lead. Charcoal BBQs only and to maintain the peaceful nature of the campsite, we ask for no music to be played. No electric hook ups.
