About Clashwhannon Caravan Park

Clashwhannon Caravan Park and Public House is ideally situated along the Mull of Galloway Trail and within a 5 minute stroll of the village of Drummore. This area features some of Scotland??s most spectacular coastline and due to the influence of the Gulf Stream enjoys a particularly mild climate, making this a perfect location for walkers, cyclists, birdwatchers, anglers and anyone who just wants to get away from all the hustle and bustle of city life. Clashwhannon is owned and run by the Appleton Family since 2004. We pride ourselves on our positive feedback and return customers. The views over Luce Bay are beautiful, especially at sunrise. In the latter part of the year we have big dark skies, unpolluted by light, full of stars shimmering above the bay. The ISS is a frequent sight as it passes over, and we have surprisingly good displays of the Northern Lights to amaze you with! The area is renowned for its Tope fishing, and we can advise you on local Charter Hire Skippers if you want to spend a day sea angling from a Charter boat. The shore fishing isn??t too bad either! Local species include Tope, Pollack, Mackerel, Dog Fish, Wrasse, Skate, Conger, Cod, Cuckoo Wrasse and more. Luce Bay is often used by Dolphin pods, Seals are almost full-time residents, and sometimes we even get a visit from Basking Sharks! Whether you want to relax, go mountain biking or venture out on the water, you can find it all locally. We now have a coastal path from the Mull of Galloway up to Sandhead (and beyond). Via cliff-top and shore passing New England Bay, Chapel Rossan, Ardwell and the massive beach at Sandhead. The local bus stops at Clashwhannon for those wishing to visit Logan Botanic Garden or go into Stranraer. Martin and Louise assure you of a warm welcome to Clashwhannon' please contact us for more details.
