Caolasnacon ??? the name being Gaelic for Narrows of the Dogs, reputedly because the spot was used as a crossing place for shepherds and theirs dogs, is situated in an idyllic setting on the south shore of Loch Leven, close to the village of Kinlochleven and four miles from Ballachulish.
Much care has been taken to blend the site into its surroundings and makes an advantage of being off the beaten track while at the same time being an ideal centre for exploring the immediate area. The legendary Glencoe, scene of the famous massacre, is a mere three miles away. Within an easy days outing, by the way of Fort William and the scenic Caledonian Canal, lies Inverness while in a southerly direction, the delightful trip to ???Bonnie Oban Bay??.
The loch lends itself superbly to boating and fishing and the shingle beach make launching your own boat a simple task. If water-skiing or windsurfing is your sport and you have your own boat and equipment, here is a spacious expanse of water stretching from Kinlochleven to Glencoe.
For those who would rather keep there feet on the ground Caolasnacon is a superb centre for climbing or hill-walking. Wildlife abound in the immediate vicinity and we are particularly proud of our resident Golden Eagles.
