About Blue Rose Caravan & Country Park

Blue Rose Caravan Country Park is a family run exclusively for adults site set in 12 acres of beautiful countryside in East Yorkshire and is one of only a few sites in the area to have obtained a 52 week licence The Park is located close to the Yorkshire Wolds between the villages of Brandesburton and Leven These villages are within easy walking distance and have pubs serving excellent food a delicatessen Chinese take away and an award winning fish and chip shop restaurant Hornsea Freeport and the historic market town of Beverley are only a 15 minute drive away or spend a day at the seaside in Bridlington which is just 20 minutes away Historic York and Whitby are only an hour away Upon entering the park on the right and left hedges you will see Tree Sparrows Goldfinches Chaffinches and the odd Robin foraging about soil Walking in along the road you ll spot Pied Wagtails all around especially early doors so have a peep through your caravan windows if you re an early riser also in the summer there is quite a lot of Swifts and Swallows flying around the park As you go towards the toilet block looking to your right over the hedge is the flight path for the Barn Owl which is his favourite spot he flies around the perimeter of the park Just past the toilet blocks and washrooms look out for Grey Wagtails in the picnic area a walk across to the hedge and you will spot more Chaffinches Tree Sparrows and Goldfinches listen for the Warblers from spring through summer all along the dyke to Kingfisher pond down to the left of the dog walk through to the lakes Continue round the road as you turn back up the park on your right look in the hedgerow all the way to the top towards the mobile home area you will see Blackcaps Dunnock Goldcrest Greenfinch Siskin Tree Sparrows Goldfinches Robins Blue Tits Coal Tits Great Tits and Bullfinches especially by the bird feeders opposite plot 33 on the hedge between plots 50 51 also seen on other bird feeders around the park In the trees beyond the feeders lookout for Song Thrushes high in the tree tops singing Mistle Thrushes also are around this area but on an evening look out for the Barn Owl also up in the sky around the perimeter you will see Kestrels hovering looking for a tasty meal A Sparrowhawk frequents this area of no man s land too Going back across to the picnic area over the stile along to your left by the side of the dyke you will hear Warblers Reed Warblers and Grasshopper Warblers at the far end also look out for the Reed Buntings that hang around down here by the Kingfisher pond As you enter into the lake area you will see Greylag Geese Tufted Ducks Coots Little Grebes and Mallards Walk through to your right and over the bridge in the hedge to your right there are Goldcrest Warblers and Long Tail Tits and Linnets hang about by the golf area then walk up between the two dykes to your right facing the park about 100 yds on your right is the area that I call the Kingfisher pond my favourite spot for spotting them I ve seen 3 present at the same time just stand and wait patience is a virtue here Also in abundance are the Warblers and Buntings Turn around and face the tall trees this is where Jays hang out the field to the right in summer is where you can spot Yellow Wagtails and Yellowhammers another siting spot for these is down the end of the footpath opposite the park entrance across the road which is a nice walk After you have walked up between the dykes head back to the bridge and turn right toward the arial mast in the trees to your right lookout for Great Spotted Woodpeckers Treecreepers and Jays Walk your way around to the lake where there is some Tufted Ducks Great Crested Grebes Goosander and also a pair of Goldeneye this winter Heading back along the dyke to the bridge you may spot the Kingfisher doing a fly by and listen out for the wrens
