About Airdeny Self-Catering Chalets

Our seven comfy cottages offer the perfect hideaway in beautiful Western Scotland.

Choose from two-bedroom or three-bedroom timber chalets, each decked out with everything you could possibly need. Although when you have views like ours, you don't need much.

Nestled in 3.5 acres, the chalets look up towards the spectacular Ben Cruachan and over Glen Etive. We have our own bluebell wood and are often visited by a myriad of wildlife.

For those of you who like to keep busy on their holidays, there are many fun activities to keep you busy close by.

So come, enjoy our hospitality and have a relaxing holiday you'll never forget!

Places to go & Things to do

Our cottages are the ideal base from which to explore Scotland's mesmerising West Coast.

Drop into our charming local village Taynuilt for all your essentials. Or perhaps catch your dinner at Inverawe or one of the many nearby creeks.

For naturalists there's plenty of wildlife thriving in the area and lovely gardens to discover. Sea enthusiasts we recommend you try the Seafari.

Hikers don't panic! There are endless tracks and trails exploring the dramatic scenery.

Delve into our history and visit spectacular castles, Oban's museum, Ardchattan Priory and Bonawe Iron Furnace.

As you can see there's a lot to do around here, and at the end of a hard day there's the comfort of your chalet waiting for you.

Wildlife Photography

Philip Price is an award winning wildlife photographer and tour guide. He has been awarded 3 semi final placings in the BBC international wildlife photographer of the year competition. His publication credits include BBC wildlife magazine, National environmental government programs and national press. His tour guiding company Loch Visions won a merit award at the 2007 Highland Business of the Year award. He is a qualified first aider and is a member of the Oban Mountain Rescue Team.

Join Philip for an exciting trip into the magical world of wildlife. All photography knowledge required will be passed on and he can lend cameras to those who do not have their own so anyone can come and experience wildlife as never before.

Stramash

Stramash provide outdoor adventure days for visitors to Oban allowing them to discover their sense of adventure and enjoy the ultimate outdoor experience? With activity choices including Gorge Walking, Coasteering, Canoeing, Sea Kayaking and Archery plus additional options tailored on request, Stramash can provide something for everyone - families, couples, individuals and groups - even on a rainy day!

Sea Kayaking

Sea Kayaking is the fastest growing water sport. It appeals to people who like to get out into wild and beautiful places without the noise of an engine. In a sea kayak, you can explore fascinating islands, coastlines and sea lochs with the freedom to go where no other form of transport can take you.

Seafreedom is a mobile sea kayak resource based at Connel, near Oban, led by Tony Hammock, who has forty years paddling experience. They provide sea kayak instruction, coaching, guided day trips, tours and rental. No previous experience is necessary and all equipment is provided.

Loch Etive Boat Hire

Loch Etive Boat-Hire in Taynuilt offer 5 boats with cabins or cuddies. These boats are suitable and totally safe for the sheltered waters of Loch Etive. All boats are equipped with safety equipment, maps, fuel and outboard engines.

Sea-Fari Adventures

Sea.fari Adventures is a Wildlife Experience specialising in offering a unique combination of high adventure and pure exhilaration with the thrill of close encounters with Scotland's magnificent sealife and beautiful scenery.

Wildlife-tours include visits to the Gulf of Corryvreckan, home of the World's Third Largest Whirlpool, whale and dolphin watching, trips to the Garvellach Islands (The Holy Isle) and full day boat tours to Colonsay, Iona and Staffa.

Argyll Adventure

There is something for everyone at Argyll Adventure Inveraray. Located on the shores of beautiful Loch Fyne beside Inveraray, they offer activities suitable for children and adults.

You can mix and match your activities and spend a couple of hours or the whole day there. All activities are supervised by their friendly staff, with the emphasis on fun, challenge and safety.

The coffee bar and scenic picnic area are great during time-outs and relaxation between activities. With so much to do, this is a fun day out you won't want to miss in Argyll.
