Established in 1978 as a farm diversification, Afon Brenig Caravan Park is situated in an ideal location for those seeking peace and tranquillity. The land is on the valley
floor of the Brenig river; more of a stream really, and joins the Alwen river in the small village of Pentre Llyn Cymer. The Alwen is a small tributary of the river Dee.
The park has the advantage of being well screened and sheltered, and is exceptionally picturesque. Many of the vans are south facing and have a superb view of the crystal clear stream from their bay windows. Foxes, rabbits, pheasants,
wild ducks and squirrels, are common neighbours (not to mention a colony of moles!). And if you’re really keen, then you will find newts and frogs in all the nearby wetland areas.
The park is just a short walk through the woods to Llyn Brenig; a reservoir constructed in the early 1970’s, which has now become one of Wales’s top fishing venues. The lake also has a popular yachting club. You can also visit the Brenig Centre where you can learn about the history and archaeology of the area. The
centre has an excellent café which is now open all year round.
Also within a 5 mile radius we have a go kart circuit, a quad riding and sheep dog demonstration centre, and an open farm with
everything from pet lambs to falconry exhibitions. If you
enjoy walking, then you are right next to the massive
Clocaenog Forest, with endless miles of tracks and the
sound of birds everywhere.
